One player has been quietly slipping down the pecking order at Camp Nou.
Once seen as a long-term attacking solution, he now finds himself pushed further and further away from the starting eleven.
Despite flashes of brilliance, he has not been a consistent part of the big moments.
He has accepted a secondary role, but recent changes at the club could make his situation even more difficult.
And that has not gone unnoticed across the Premier League.
With one Spanish international already arriving this summer, and Barcelona still chasing another major attacking name, concerns are beginning to grow within the player’s camp.
It is no longer just about patience. It is about opportunity.
And that is where Unai Emery’s side may step in.
After a decent season and Europa League qualification, Aston Villa want to build a squad that can compete across multiple fronts and push for Champions League qualification next season.
The club’s recruitment team has been exploring attacking options, especially players with top-level experience who may be open to a new challenge.
According to TBR Football, Aston Villa are now monitoring the situation of Ferran Torres very closely.
The winger, who left Manchester City for Barcelona in 2022, could soon become surplus to requirements.
Torres made 45 appearances last season, but many came from the bench.
With the emergence of Lamine Yamal, the steady form of Raphinha, and now the impending arrival of Nico Williams, Torres may soon be the odd one out in Hansi Flick’s plans.
Villa know this is a rare chance to land a proven La Liga talent with Premier League experience.
Torres, still only 25, has two years left on his Barcelona contract.
Even after scoring 19 goals last season, his future is uncertain.
Emery’s team are ready to act if the opportunity becomes real.
And as things stand, it is looking more likely with each passing week.
The next few weeks could determine whether Ferran Torres stays in Spain or returns to England.
