Enzo Fernandez has dominated recent transfer talk after fresh rumours linked him with Real Madrid.

Reports claimed the Chelsea midfielder and his camp were pushing for a move to the Spanish capital this summer.

The speculation grew quickly because Fernandez remains one of Chelsea’s biggest names.

The Argentine endured a difficult club season as Chelsea finished 10th in the Premier League, but he still showed his quality with the ball.

Fernandez has also carried an important role for Argentina at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He has anchored the midfield while also pushing forward to support Lionel Messi.

Argentina beat Algeria, Austria and Jordan in Group J as they moved comfortably into the knockout rounds.

Real Madrid have also entered a new era after another disappointing season. Los Blancos failed to win a trophy and also exited the Champions League before the semi-finals.

As a result, Madrid appointed Jose Mourinho on a three-year contract. The Spanish giants have also moved in the market after signing multiple players.

However, Real Madrid have now released a firm statement on the Enzo Fernandez rumours. The statement said:

“In light of the information and statements that have emerged in recent days regarding an alleged interest from Real Madrid C. F. in the player Enzo Fernández, the club wishes to state that it has not made any efforts, either directly or indirectly, aimed at signing the aforementioned player and, furthermore, has no intention of pursuing such an operation.”

The statement now leaves the Fernandez saga in a very different place. Despite recent rumours of a move to the Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid have publicly ruled out any plan to sign the Chelsea midfielder.
