Galatasaray want to sign Tottenham Hotspur forward

Galatasaray’s long-standing admiration for the Tottenham Hotspur forward has once again moved into focus.

Tottenham Hotspur have already made major changes to their squad during the summer transfer window.

Roberto De Zerbi has focused heavily on rebuilding the midfield and defence following last season’s disappointing campaign.

Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes and Jan Paul van Hecke have all arrived in North London this summer.

Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Martin Dubravka have also strengthened the defensive unit.

However, further movement in attack cannot be ruled out before the transfer window closes.

Several players are still waiting to discover where they fit into De Zerbi’s plans for the coming season.

That uncertainty has naturally led to speculation surrounding Tottenham’s attacking options.

According to Haber Sarikirmiz, Galatasaray have revived their interest in Mathys Tel this summer.

The report states that the Turkish champions have admired the French forward for the last two years and have now placed him back on their shortlist.

Mauro Icardi’s departure has increased the need for another attacking option in Istanbul.

Meanwhile, Bundesliga clubs are also monitoring the youngster’s situation ahead of the new season.

Tottenham’s position on a potential departure remains unclear at this stage.

Mathys Tel featured regularly towards the end of last season, starting four of seven Premier League matches and appearing from the bench in the other three.

Spurs also invested heavily to bring him to the club, paying €25m to sign him permanently from Bayern Munich after initially spending €10m on his loan move.

That investment means Tottenham are unlikely to sanction an easy exit this summer.

For now, though, Galatasaray‘s long-standing admiration for the Tottenham Hotspur forward has once again moved into focus.
