Aston Villa have reached an agreement to sign Alejandro Garnacho from Chelsea as Unai Emery continues reshaping his squad.
Villa have already made significant changes following a historic campaign that delivered Europa League success and Champions League qualification.
However, their attacking options required further reinforcement after Morgan Rogers completed a British-record £117M move to Chelsea.
The Midlands club have now moved quickly to bring in another attacking player from Stamford Bridge.
Garnacho became available after struggling to establish himself during his first season with Chelsea following a £40M move from Manchester United.
The 22-year-old made 43 appearances across all competitions and scored eight goals during the 2025–26 campaign.
However, he managed only one Premier League goal across 24 appearances and subsequently missed Argentina’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.
His difficult campaign created uncertainty over his future, with new Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso not planning around the winger for the upcoming season.
Now, Villa have successfully reached an agreement to bring Garnacho to Villa Park.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Aston Villa have agreed a deal to sign Alejandro Garnacho from Chelsea, with a club-to-club agreement now completed.
The transfer will initially take the form of a loan and includes a buy clause. It will become mandatory if certain conditions are met.
Moreover, Romano reports that Unai Emery specifically wanted Garnacho as part of his squad rebuild. A medical has also been booked, moving the transfer closer to completion.
Now, Garnacho will have an opportunity to rebuild his career after just one difficult season at Stamford Bridge.
