Tottenham Hotspur star desperately wants Liverpool move

Manchester United, Inter Milan and Newcastle United continue to monitor his situation.

Tottenham Hotspur narrowly avoided relegation during a difficult 2025-26 campaign despite entering the season with high expectations.

Roberto De Zerbi has responded with a major rebuild this summer. Spurs have signed Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes and Jan Paul van Hecke.

Meanwhile, they have also added experienced defenders such as Andrew Robertson and Marcos Senesi. The overhaul has already produced encouraging results.

Tottenham remain unbeaten in pre-season after victories over MK Dons, Auckland FC and Chelsea. They also drew with Sydney FC before winning on penalties.

Liverpool have also entered a new era under Andoni Iraola. The Reds have strengthened with Jeremy Jacquet and Victor Munoz.

They remain in the market for another defender after injuries and several departures weakened their back line.

According to Anfield Sector on X, Djed Spence is extremely receptive to joining Liverpool if the club makes a formal move this summer.

The report states Liverpool admire the versatile full-back as they assess defensive targets before the transfer window closes.

It adds that Tottenham Hotspur would demand at least £35 million before sanctioning a sale. Spence enjoyed a strong individual season despite Tottenham’s struggles.

He made 30 Premier League appearances and featured 10 times in the UEFA Champions League. His versatility allowed him to play across both defensive flanks whenever required.

The 25-year-old also impressed for England at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He wore a protective carbon-fibre jaw brace after suffering an earlier injury but never looked affected.

Spence played a key role in knockout victories over Mexico and Norway before completing the full 90 minutes in England’s 6-4 win over France in the third-place play-off.

Those performances have increased his value. Everton have already failed with a £25 million bid, while Manchester United, Inter Milan and Newcastle United continue to monitor his situation.

Liverpool have not opened formal negotiations yet. However, the report suggests Spence would welcome an Anfield switch if the opportunity develops before the transfer window closes.
