Besiktas make offer to sign Tottenham Hotspur star

Besiktas have made their move and are waiting to learn Spurs’ decision.

Tottenham Hotspur are preparing for a very different season after narrowly escaping relegation during the 2025/26 campaign.

Roberto De Zerbi eventually brought stability after the departures of Thomas Frank and Igor Tudor. Spurs responded by spending heavily during the summer window.

Sandro Tonali arrived from Newcastle United, while Mateus Fernandes joined from West Ham United.

Jan Paul van Hecke also strengthened the defence alongside free agents Andrew Robertson and Marcos Senesi.

Several players have already moved on. Luka Vuskovic joined Brighton, while Radu Dragusin left for Fiorentina on loan.

The midfield has also become much more crowded following the arrivals of Tonali and Fernandes.

Tottenham’s pre-season has provided encouraging signs. They beat MK Dons and Auckland FC before overcoming Sydney FC on penalties.

De Zerbi’s side then defeated Chelsea 2-1, with Richarlison scoring the late winner. Another departure could now follow before the transfer window closes.

According to Sozcu Gazetesi, Besiktas have submitted a loan offer for Conor Gallagher as manager Vincenzo Italiano looks to strengthen his midfield.

The Turkish club have identified Gallagher as a player who could improve their options in central areas.

Italiano has specifically requested the England international, and Besiktas are now waiting for a response.

Gallagher only joined Tottenham in January after leaving Atletico Madrid. He made 18 Premier League appearances last season, starting 14 times.

The midfielder contributed one goal and one assist during those outings. However, his position has become less secure following Tottenham’s summer spending.

Tonali and Fernandes have joined a midfield group that already includes Rodrigo Bentancur, Lucas Bergvall, Archie Gray and Pape Matar Sarr.

Spurs will also play fewer matches next season because they have no European football. That could make regular minutes harder to secure for Gallagher.

The 26-year-old remains under contract until 2031 and carries a reported market value of around €32 million.
