Tottenham Hotspur are preparing for a major reset after enduring a disastrous 2025–26 campaign under several different managers.
Spurs eventually finished 17th in the Premier League with 41 points, narrowly avoiding relegation on the final day.
Their Champions League campaign also ended in the Round of 16 against Atletico Madrid.
Roberto De Zerbi is now overseeing a significant rebuild, with Tottenham spending heavily to strengthen several areas of their squad.
Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes arrived in major midfield deals, while Jan Paul van Hecke strengthened the defence.
Andrew Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Martin Dubravka also joined as free agents.
However, Tottenham’s continued attempts to reshape their attacking options could now result in another departure before the transfer window closes.
According to Hooligan Soccer, Galatasaray and Porto are interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur forward Mathys Tel, with both clubs exploring potential loan deals for the 21-year-old.
Tel has impressed Tottenham’s coaching staff during pre-season, particularly through his tactical adaptation, pressing and work rate.
De Zerbi has told the Frenchman that he trusts him and intends to give him an important role.
However, Spurs are also maintaining contacts over potential moves for Cody Gakpo, Savinho and Baris Alper Yilmaz.
Tel reportedly wants regular starts and could push to leave if those arrivals significantly reduce his opportunities.
Galatasaray have reportedly submitted a £2.5 million loan offer containing a £21 million purchase option. Preliminary discussions with Tel’s representatives are also said to have progressed positively.
The Turkish club can offer Champions League football and regular playing time, while they are reportedly ready to improve their proposal.
Porto are also exploring a loan deal containing a buy option after Tel’s representatives contacted the Portuguese club.
However, Galatasaray currently appear to hold the advantage, with Tel reportedly favouring the Turkish side.
Club officials are planning to send a delegation to London next week as they attempt to complete the move.
