Michael Olise has established himself as one of Bayern Munich’s leading attacking players following his move from Crystal Palace in 2024.
The French international enjoyed an outstanding 2025/26 campaign and collected the Bundesliga Player of the Season award.
Olise has maintained that form this season, including a hat-trick and an assist during Bayern’s 7-0 victory over Union Berlin.
The 24-year-old remains under contract until June 2029, while Bayern are keen to extend his agreement further.
However, his performances continue to attract interest from major European clubs, with Liverpool repeatedly linked with bringing him back to England.
The Reds previously explored his availability as they searched for a long-term successor to Mohamed Salah on the right flank.
According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool asked about Olise during the summer but encountered resistance from both Bayern and the player.
Olise currently has little desire to return to the Premier League and remains settled with the German champions.
Instead, Spain has emerged as his preferred destination if he eventually decides to leave Bayern Munich.
Sources close to Olise indicate that he has a genuine ambition to play in Spain, with Real Madrid and Barcelona aware of his situation.
That stance does not mean Olise is preparing to leave Bayern, with the winger currently showing no desire to depart.
Bayern also consider him an important part of their plans. So, they want to secure his long-term future with a new contract.
Liverpool are not Olise’s only Premier League admirers, with Arsenal and Manchester City also making enquiries during the summer.
Both clubs received a similar response, as Bayern refused to entertain a transfer and Olise showed no desire to leave.
Furthermore, TEAMtalk reports that Olise’s existing Bayern contract contains no release clause, strengthening the German club’s negotiating position.
Liverpool therefore face significant obstacles to any future pursuit, while Olise currently appears more attracted to Spain if he eventually seeks a new challenge.
