Tottenham Hotspur want to sign striker admired by Jurgen Klopp

Tottenham are understood to be significant admirers and have continued monitoring his progress in Germany.

Tottenham Hotspur are considering attacking reinforcements after a difficult opening to the 2026/27 Premier League campaign under Roberto De Zerbi.

Spurs remain without a league victory after five matches, collecting two points from two draws and three defeats.

Their biggest problem has been in attack. Tottenham failed to score across their opening four league fixtures before finally finding the net twice against Aston Villa.

Those struggles have followed an extraordinary summer overhaul, with Spurs spending more than £300 million on 10 senior additions.

Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes represented the biggest investments, while Savio, Jan Paul van Hecke and Andy Robertson also joined.

Mykhailo Mudryk and Omar Marmoush subsequently arrived on deadline-day loans as Tottenham continued reshaping De Zerbi’s squad.

However, their difficult start appears to have encouraged the club to keep assessing potential additions in attacking areas.

According to TEAMtalk, Tottenham Hotspur are now monitoring Eintracht Frankfurt striker Younes Ebnoutalib following his impressive start to the season.

The 23-year-old only joined Frankfurt from Elversberg in January, although a knee injury disrupted his opening months with the German club.

Ebnoutalib has since made a significant impact, recording four goals and one assist across his opening four matches this campaign.

His performances have also earned recognition from former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, who is now Germany’s head coach.

Klopp selected Ebnoutalib for his first senior Germany squad after being impressed by the striker’s performances for Frankfurt.

The forward subsequently made his international debut against the Netherlands, committing his senior international future to Germany after previously representing Morocco at youth level.

Tottenham are understood to be significant admirers and have continued monitoring his progress in Germany.

However, Spurs are not alone among Premier League clubs assessing the striker.

Brighton and Everton have also watched Ebnoutalib closely this season as his reputation has grown following his productive start.

TEAMtalk does not report that Tottenham have submitted an offer or opened negotiations at this stage.

Their interest nevertheless adds another attacking option to the club’s radar as De Zerbi attempts to improve a Tottenham side that has struggled badly for goals.
