Snoop Dogg looks to be the next in a long list of celebrities looking to dabble in football club involvement.
After the involvement of Rob Reynolds and Rob Mac at Wrexham, Tom Brady at Birmingham City or Michael B. Jordan at AFC Bournemouth, there is an increasing involvement in football clubs from some of Hollywood’s biggest A-Listers.
The increased involvement from celebrities has drawn a mixed response from football fans, but there is no signs of it slowing down.
According to one former club’s social media, they could be the next football club to have celebrity involvement.
Snoop Dogg on verge of huge investment in former Premier League side
In a video that also showcased their new home kit for the season, music icon Snoop Dogg was the sole participant in a video on Swansea City’s social media.
He included the line “Coming to a hood near you”, implying future involvement whilst also incorporating some of his gangster rap persona.
Swansea City were once a staple of the Premier League calendar.
After earning promotion to the Premier League in 2011, they remained in England’s top flight for seven seasons.
This included a League Cup triumph in 2013, beating Bradford City 5-0 in the final at Wembley Stadium.
The club suffered relegation in 2018 and have not been back in the Premier League since.
Three seasons on, they almost returned but lost to Brentford in the Championship playoff final.
A 14th place finish in 2024/25 suggests there is no return to the top flight anytime soon.
In April, the club announced the addition of former Real Madrid and Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric as co-owner.
He will join up with American owners Brett Cravatt and Jason Cohen.
They will hope that the involvement of Snoop Dogg can help inspire an increase up the EFL Championship table.
