Howver, Leverkusen have also seen Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong leave for Liverpool, club captain Jonathan Tah depart for Bayern Munich, as well as Granit Xhaka and many more.

Manager Xabi Alonso also departed the club, replacing Carlo Ancelotti as Real Madrid boss.

Leverkusen are now a year on from that aforementioned 2023/24 season, where they one win away from winning an unbeaten treble, falling short in the UEFA Europa League final against Atalanta.

The club now looks entirely different.

Bayer Leverkusen in advanced talks with La Liga defender

According to reports, Leverkusen are targeting Sevilla centre-back Loïc Badé.

Money problems have developed at Sevilla, and a 17th place finish in the 2024/25 La Liga table did not help matters.

Some are predicting Sevilla to be relegated, and the loss of Badé will not help things in the short term.

After joining Sevilla on loan in the 2022/23 season, Badé has gone on to make 79 La Liga appearances for them.

He would be a great addition for Leverkusen, along with Quansah, to help fill the void left by Tah.
