Tomorrow evening, PSG are set to take on Spurs in the UEFA Super Cup final in Udine.
Luis Enrique’s side are looking to put their Club World Cup disappointment behind them, and get back to winning ways.
They are heavily favoured to do so.
However, the game is not the biggest talking point around the club at the moment.
No, that is Gianluigi Donnarumma, who has issued a statement around his future, or lack there of, in Paris.
Before and after that statement, it is clear that he will not be playing for PSG this season.
His new club could be confirmed as quickly as this week.
L’Equipe are reporting that the goalkeeper has agreed an agreement in principle with Manchester City.
This despite heavy rumours linking him with a move to rivals Manchester United.
Although Manchester City brought James Trafford back to the club this summer, they seem ready to go after Donnarumma.
You have to feel for Trafford, he would have fancied his chances at displacing Ederson from the XI.
He may even fancy his chances against Donnarumma.
But, you can’t help but feel that the he would not be coming to sign for City to sit on the bench.
In a World Cup year, that could be seriously damaging for the Englishman.
Had he become the first choice at City, he would have fancied his chances at giving Jordan Pickford a run for his money.
If he sits on the bench all season, his place in the squad may be in jeopardy – never mind pushing Pickford to start.
Let’s see what happens.
🚨 Breaking | Departing PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma (26) has reached an agreement in principle with Manchester City, according to L’Equipe.
