Newcastle United are having a forgettable transfer window. They have been trying to sign a striker from the very beginning of the transfer window.

But the problem they are facing is that all their striker targets are rejecting them. The Magpies thought that they would be able to attract players to St. James’ Park this summer.

The main reason for that is Newcastle will be playing in the Champions League. However, Eddie Howe will be livid as most of his primary targets have rejected Newcastle.

And, to make matters worse, Alexander Isak is now adamant to leave Newcastle, as Transfer News Live reported earlier.

Isak wants to play for Liverpool, and his relationship with the Newcastle United management and players has broken down completely.

But the Magpies are still trying to hold on to their player. Liverpool are also pushing to find an agreement with Newcastle, but the stance from the Magpies remains the same.

However, Eddie Howe wants to make sure that his squad is ready to participate in all competitions, even if Isak is not available to play for Newcastle.

That is why the Newcastle boss is eyeing multiple strikers to find a suitable one who could replace Alexander Isak.

Now, according to Rudy Galetti, Newcastle United have identified Jean-Philippe Mateta from Crystal Palace as the striker who could replace Alexander Isak if he leaves.

However, Crystal Palace are asking for a fee of around £40 million. Now, Newcastle have not yet made a move, but with the way things are moving with Isak, they might place a bid any time soon.
