Brighton and Hove Albion are preparing for a game at home to Manchester City tomorrow, and one of their defenders may not be there.
They will hope to pick up results soon, after a 1-1 draw with Fulham and a 2-0 loss to Everton in their brand new stadium.
With games to go against AFC Bournemouth, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea, it is not the easiest start for Fabian Hürzeler’s side.
The club have been spoilt with an array of defensive talent since their promotion to the Premier League back in 2017.
They sold Marc Cucurella to Chelsea in 2022. His replacement, Pervis Estupinan, was a more than capable replacement.
Ben White and Levi Colwill have also enjoyed successful spells with the club.
Captain Lewis Dunk has been a figure of consistency, form that seen him receive call ups to the national team.
There has been a mass amount of shrewd business from the Brighton board, with the club seemingly able to always find replacements for star players that exit the door.
They could be set for another defensive exit.
Brighton and Hove Albion defender set to join Fiorentina
According to reports, Brighton full-back Tariq Lamptey is set to join Serie A side Fiorentina.
He is expected to sign for a fee of around £6 million.
Lamptey, 24, has made over 100 appearances for the club since signing from Chelsea in 2020.
After starting off well for the club, being linked with a £50 million move to Tottenham at the height of his success at the Amex Stadium.
However, a combination of injuries and a drop off in form has seen Lamptey’s stock fall significantly.
He is expected to be the backup in Florence, behind Dodô, but will relish the chance for a fresh start in new surroundings.
Tariq Lamptey set to join Fiorentina from Brighton a package worth up to £6m.🟣
