Jamie Vardy waved goodbye to Leicester City Football Club after an iconic spell with the club.

Vardy’s story is a much talked about one, making the move to the Foxes from Fleetwood Town for £1 million in 2012, a non-league record.

During his time with Leicester, Vardy went on to make 500 appearances, and scoring 200 goals for the club, before announcing his departure following their relegation from the Premier League last season.

During this time, he oversaw two promotions to the Premier League, as well as their infamous 2015/16 season.

Despite the odds being at 5,000/1, Leicester performed one of the greatest miracles in the history of any sport, winning the Premier League title.

Many tipped Leicester to be relegated prior to the start of the season, after performing another miracle just a few months earlier as they won seven of their last nine games to secure Premier League survival.

Vardy also broke a record set by Ruud van Nistelrooy during that season, becoming the first player to score in 12 consecutive Premier League games.

Leicester and Vardy competed in the Champions League the following season, despite Arsenal triggering his £22 million release clause.

Vardy would score for Leicester in their Round of 16 win over Sevilla, before exiting at the hands of finalists Atlético Madrid in the Quarter Final.

More silverware would follow in the 2020/21 season, as Youri Tielemans’ wonder goal secured Leicester their first ever FA Cup as they beat Chelsea 1-0 in the final at Wembley.

Leicester would be relegated in the 2022/23 season, but he would help guide the club back a year later as they earned promotion straight away, winning the EFL Championship title.

Vardy would score 18 league goals that season.

Leicester’s return was underwhelming to say the least, as they were relegated with an 18th place finish.

Vardy has been linked with many clubs this summer, but has made a surprise choice in regards to his next club.

According to reports, there has been an agreement made between Vardy and Serie A side Cremonese.

After earning promotion through the playoffs last season, Cremonese are currently joint top of Serie A after two games, with wins over AC Milan and Sassuolo.

With prior experience of defying the odds in a top flight title race, Vardy will bring valuable experience to this Cremonse side.
