Liverpool could smash Bayern Munich record to sign Mohamed Salah’s heir

Mohamed Salah

Liverpool under Arne Slot are no strangers to planning ahead. Even while celebrating the recent Premier League triumph, the club knows that change is inevitable.

For years, Mohamed Salah has carried their attack. The Egyptian forward has been central to Liverpool’s success.

Yet at 33, and with strong interest from the Saudi Pro League refusing to go away, questions about his long-term role are louder than ever.

His contract runs until 2027, but inside Anfield, there is a sense that 2026 could be the year when a parting of ways becomes reality.

If that moment arrives, the need for a genuine replacement is undeniable. Federico Chiesa remains in the squad.

But the Italian is injury-prone, and his performances are not at the level of Salah. So, it is unlikely that Arne Slot would trust him as a replacement for the Egyptian.

Liverpool know that when their talisman departs, only an elite-level successor can step in. Transfer News Live already reported that Liverpool are eyeing Michael Olise of Bayern Munich.

Arne Slot believes that the Frenchman could be the ideal replacement for Mohamed Salah. The issue, however, is the price.

Reports from Football Insider claim the figure is set at around £100m, a demand rooted in his extraordinary form.

Last season alone, Olise produced 43 goal contributions, including a league-high 18 assists. In the new campaign, he has already continued that same blistering rhythm.

With a contract stretching until 2029, pricing him away will not be easy. Bayern have no intention of selling cheaply and would break their own transfer record if they sanctioned such a move.

Yet Liverpool are said to be leading the chase, even ahead of other European giants.

When Salah’s time finally comes to an end, Anfield may look to Munich for the man to write the next chapter.
