But Konate is not the only defender on their radar. Xabi Alonso is also a huge admirer of Dayot Upamecano from Bayern Munich. His situation is quite similar to that of Konate.
However, there is another defender who is on Real Madrid’s radar. The Los Blancos prefer him over Konate and Upamecano.
Liverpool wanted to sign him, but failed in the summer. That is why they are ready to return for the player next summer.
However, the Reds know there will be many clubs queuing up to sign Marc Guehi as a free agent. The likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Bayern Munich are all looking at the Crystal Palace captain.
That is why, according to Gianluca Di Marzio (via AceOdds), Liverpool are now pursuing a deal for Ousmane Diomande. They are looking at the Sporting CP defender as an alternative to Guehi.
This will give Real Madrid an advantage in the chase for Guehi, according to Defensa Central. This summer, Guehi was ready to leave and join Liverpool.
However, when Real Madrid show an interest, most players would choose the Spanish giants over any other club.
So, with Liverpool deciding to pursue the Diomande deal, this will surely be a huge boost for Real Madrid’s pursuit of Marc Guehi.
