Premier League clubs have owners from all over the world. There are many American owners involved in Premier League clubs.

Now, the USA President Donald Trump has decided to pardon a former Premier League owner. This doesn’t mean that the person will return to the league.

However, the team he was involved with in the past is going through a transition. But they are doing much better than Manchester United.

They are in the Champions League, and this season, they are not far off from the top 4. Also, the club has recently seen drastic changes in the hierarchy.

Yet, those changes in the boardroom have left no impact on the performance of the team on the pitch. Then, after months of legal silence, the once key figure finally reappears.

As per The Telegraph, Joe Lewis has received an official pardon from Donald Trump. The decision comes after Lewis pleaded guilty to insider trading last year.

It also follows the transfer of Tottenham Hotspur’s ownership to the Lewis Family Trust in 2022. Moreover, Lewis will stay in retirement despite the pardon.

The family will continue to run Tottenham through his daughter Vivienne, his son Charles and Nick Beucher.

The leadership team also includes chairman Peter Charrington and chief executive Vinai Venkatesham. Eric Hinson joined the board last month.

Thus, Lewis expressed relief as the White House prepares to publish the pardon. His statement focused on his desire to enjoy retirement.

His family thanked Trump for the decision and highlighted Lewis’s long business career. Therefore, Tottenham remain under stable family control.

Their Premier League season continues with optimism as they sit fifth in the table. Their Champions League campaign also looks promising.
