Premier League fans want to watch every game. However, the cost of watching those games from homes with a Fire Stick is also rising.
That is why people are looking at dodgy methods to watch Premier League and other football matches.
Although these methods may seem cost-effective, in the long run, they could put you behind bars now.
So, you may have to pay more than the subscription fee if you are using such methods to watch football. This is what the Daily Mail is reporting.
According to the report, Police in the UK are stepping up their fight against illegal Fire Sticks and other hacked streaming devices.
Officers now target both sellers and users who stream Premier League matches and other premium channels without permission.
Investigators monitor common keywords in text messages and social-media adverts.
They look for phrases like “premium channels”, “all sports”, “no subscription needed” and “Europe-wide access”. These words help officers link sellers, buyers and distribution networks.
Police also work with broadcasters and streaming platforms. They track suspicious devices through payment details, IP addresses and device IDs.
They also check reseller lists and customer databases that they seize during raids. This information often sends officers straight to people’s homes.
Experts say many modified devices contain hidden malware and trojans. These programmes can steal personal data or expose bank details.
Sellers often promise that customers “cannot be traced”, but investigators say this is false. Police urge people to avoid deals that seem too cheap or offer “lifetime access”.
They also warn consumers to stay away from sellers who use coded phrases or send links on WhatsApp or Facebook.
Officers say the crackdown will continue as illegal streaming grows more advanced.
