Tottenham will play in the UEFA Super Cup against Paris Saint-Germain.
This is after the French side’s Champions League final win.
Spurs earned their own spot in the game after being crowned UEFA Europa League champions last week.
They secured a 1-0 win over Manchester United in the final at Bilbao’s Estadio de San Mamés.
The final win secured Tottenham their first trophy since 2008.
As a result, they will play Champions League football next season.
This is despite a 17th place finish in the Premier League.
It has been a disappointing season for Tottenham in the league.
They lost 22 times in the Premier League this season, only two less than relegated Ipswich Town.
This is despite a goal difference of -1 compared to Ipswich’s -46.
Nine times out of ten, a manager would be in no danger of being sacked after securing a first trophy in 17 years,
This shows just how bad the league season has been.
It appears that Postecoglou’s future has been decided.
According to reports, Tottenham are planning to replace Postecoglou with one of two Premier League managers.
Brentford manager Thomas Frank and Fulham manager Marco Silva are being discussed by the Tottenham board.
Both have proved to be good managers at the Premier League level.
Frank has done an excellent job at Brentford.
He has turned them from Premier League newcomers to mainstays.
Silva had a difficult time at Everton.
However, he has since repaired his reputation in West London.
He brought them back up to the Premier League and they have been secure in the league in the three seasons that have followed.
With both managers managing to improve their current teams, they would be ideal candidates to bring Spurs up the table.
