Thierry Henry is undoubtedly one of the greatest players to have ever played in the Premier League. His sublime movements and trickeries dazzled fans for years.

After winning Premier League titles and FA Cup titles with Arsenal, Henry left for Barcelona. In Spain, he also won the Champions League with the Catalan giants.

Now, Thierry Henry will be honoured with the Lifetime Achievement award as one of the most influential careers in modern football.

The former French international will get this award at the 2025 BBC Sports Personality of the Year ceremony.

Henry retired from professional football in 2014 after a career that spanned two decades at the highest level. Reflecting on the honour, Henry said (via BBC Sport):

“Football has given me everything and I gave it my all. To be recognised as part of its history with this Lifetime Achievement award and to have made my mark for the fans and my team-mates is something I’ll never take for granted.”

Henry remains Arsenal’s all-time leading goalscorer, netting 228 goals in 377 appearances across two spells with the club.

He surpassed Ian Wright’s record in 2005 and went on to define an era under Arsene Wenger.

During his time in England, Henry won two Premier League titles and three FA Cups.

This includes the historic 2003-04 Invincibles season, when Arsenal went unbeaten throughout the league campaign.

Individually, Henry claimed the Premier League Golden Boot four times. He was also in six consecutive PFA Teams of the Year.

Apart from that, Henry shares the record for most assists in a single Premier League season with Kevin De Bruyne.

Last year’s Lifetime Achievement award went to Sir Mark Cavendish. Also, Pele, Sir Bobby Charlton, and Sir David Beckham are among the previous recipients.
