Liverpool eye Alexander Isak replacement in January

Liverpool will now reignite their interest.

Alexander Isak

Liverpool are in crisis big time. They were having a poor run after winning the first five Premier League games of the season.

However, the recent wins against Brighton & Hove Albion and Tottenham Hotspur will be a confidence booster for Arne Slot’s men.

Still, the Reds have suffered a setback. Alexander Isak has broken his leg while playing against the Spurs.

This will leave him out for a considerable amount of time. Given the amount the Reds had to pay to sign him, this will be a massive blow.

Meanwhile, Hugo Ekitike is by far the best signing of the season for Liverpool. The way he has adapted the Premier League is quite commendable.

Now, Liverpool will be seeking a replacement for Alexander Isak because of his absence due to injury.

According to The Telegraph, Arne Slot already knows the player he would like to have at Anfield as the replacement for Alexander Isak.

The Reds were already linked with a move for Antoine Semenyo. They even held talks with his representatives.

However, things didn’t move on. Liverpool already know that they need to pay £65 million to trigger his release clause by January 10, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.

Now, The Telegraph reports that because of the injury to Isak, Liverpool will now reignite their interest in Antoine Semenyo.

However, the Reds will face competition from both Manchester City and Manchester United. So, unless they act quickly, Liverpool might miss out on their target.
