Barcelona could receive €50 million bid for Frenkie de Jong

A top European club have identified De Jong as a priority target.

Transfer Update - Barcelona

Barcelona have one of the strongest midfields in Europe this season. Competition for places has been intense. Performances across the unit have remained consistently high.

Pedri has been operating at a world class level for months. Alongside him, Frenkie de Jong has also delivered strong displays. His influence in possession has been clear.

Because of that form, interest from abroad has emerged. A top European club have identified De Jong as a priority target.

According to Fichajes, Bayern Munich are preparing an offer worth around €50 million. The German champions are planning a midfield rebuild.

Vincent Kompany is expected to reshape that area of the squad. The expected departure of Leon Goretzka has accelerated those plans.

At 28, the Dutch midfielder is entering his prime. Bayern believe he could lead transitions while also allowing rotation with Aleksandar Pavlovic.

However, from Barcelona’s side, the situation is clear. The club do not intend to open discussions. The midfielder renewed his contract only a few months ago.

His deal now runs until 2029. Both the coaching staff and sporting department see him as a key part of the project.

A €50 million bid is not considered sufficient. It would not trigger internal debate.

De Jong has also stated repeatedly that he is happy at the club. He wants to continue at Barcelona for many more seasons.

There have been minor tactical adjustments in recent matches. Hansi Flick has occasionally used Eric Garcia at the base of midfield. De Jong has featured higher or from the bench at times.

Even so, there is no indication of a shift in status. For now, Frenkie de Jong remains central to Barcelona, while Bayern’s interest remains speculative.
