The west London club are showing interest in another Madrid player.

The transfer window is back, and as expected, speculation around Real Madrid is already gathering pace.

However, recent history suggests Madrid are unlikely to make major additions midway through the season.

Instead, the focus often shifts towards possible exits and short-term adjustments. Fabrizio Romano has already dismissed earlier reports linking Vinicius Junior with Chelsea.

However, it now appears the west London club are showing interest in another Madrid player, and this time the name has raised a few eyebrows.

Chelsea are currently navigating a period of internal change following the dismissal of Enzo Maresca.

Meanwhile, Liam Rosenior has been handed the task of reshaping the squad. Naturally, recruitment plans are now under close scrutiny.

According to Fichajes, Rosenior has requested a six-month loan move for Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The right-back only joined Madrid this season after leaving Liverpool on a free transfer, yet his start in Spain has been disrupted by injuries and stiff competition.

However, several obstacles stand in the way. Dani Carvajal remains first choice, while Federico Valverde continues to impress when deployed at right-back.

Moreover, Chelsea are already well stocked in that position, with Reece James, Malo Gusto and Josh Acheampong all competing for minutes.

So, while the rumour adds intrigue, it feels more speculative than concrete. Still, in modern football, surprises are never completely off the table.

Also, in recent times, Manchester United have reportedly showed interest in the former Liverpool star. But those rumours have failed to gather pace.

However, it seems Trent might be ready to fight for his place at Real Madrid. Although there is an uncertainty due to his lack of game time, it is unlikely that he will move in January.
