Tottenham Hotspur have finally sacked Thomas Frank. Although the board was backing him, the results on the pitch made his position untenable.
That is why when Tottenham lost against struggling Newcastle United at home, things got out of the hands of the Spurs board.
The Danish manager had already lost the support of the Spurs fans. They even booed the team after the finish of the game.
That is why it was important for the board to take a step. Otherwise, things were getting out of hand. Now, the Spurs are yet to announce a replacement for Frank.
According to reports, the Spurs are planning what they should do next. It seems they took that decision hastily. Now, one former Tottenham star has made his wish clear.
Jamie O’Hara revealed on talkSPORT the next manager he wants to see at the dugout of the Spurs. The ex-Spurs star wants to see Roberto De Zerbi back in the Premier League with the Spurs.
The Italian previously managed Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League and had impressed many top English clubs.
However, he left England to manage Marseille in France. However, the Italian has left his job in France recently, and now, he could be available for a new chapter.
So, O’Hara wants the Spurs to take the advantage before their rivals. It is worth noting that Manchester United have De Zerbi as one of the potential candidates for the permanent role.
After sacking Ruben Amorim, Manchester United will be waiting until next summer to appoint their new manager. So, this could be an advantage for Tottenham Hotspur.
They could make a move now and sign their ideal candidate without the fear of competition from arguably the biggest football club in England.
Thus, Tottenham might need to act quickly if they want to hire Roberto De Zerbi, with the Italian now available.
