Fabian Hurzeler arrived at Brighton in 2024 and quickly established himself as one of the brightest young managers in European football.
Last season, he guided the Seagulls to an eighth-place finish and secured qualification for the UEFA Conference League. The club rewarded him with a new three-year contract extension last month.
However, Fabian Hurzeler has made headlines for reasons away from the pitch this week. The Brighton boss has largely kept his private life out of the spotlight since arriving in England.
He rarely discusses personal matters and has maintained a low profile despite his growing reputation in football. That changed during the 2026 World Cup.
Hurzeler attended Germany’s group-stage clash against Ivory Coast in Canada and shared photos from the occasion on social media.
The images showed him alongside a mystery woman as they celebrated Germany’s 2-1 victory. The woman was actress Anna Karolin Berger.
The popular German television star also posted pictures from the trip on her social media accounts. Both appeared relaxed and happy as they enjoyed the World Cup atmosphere together.
Hurzeler wrote that he enjoyed the atmosphere and looked forward to watching more matches during the tournament.
The World Cup was not the only place where the pair appeared together. Both also shared photographs from a holiday in Mauritius, providing another glimpse into their relationship.
Hurzeler posted pictures from the island and described his time exploring the mountains there.
Berger currently stars in the German soap opera Sturm der Liebe and has built a successful acting career since making her screen debut in 2017.
Before moving into television, she worked extensively in theatre. Reports in Germany suggest the couple have maintained a long-distance relationship.
Berger’s filming commitments keep her in Munich, while Hurzeler spends most of his time in England due to his responsibilities at Brighton.
