Jordan Pickford was pursued by police after a driving incident involving his Lamborghini in Cheshire earlier this year.
The Everton goalkeeper has enjoyed another important period on the pitch. He recorded 11 Premier League clean sheets during the 2025/26 campaign.
Pickford also committed his long-term future to Everton by signing a contract extension until 2029.
Internationally, he helped England finish third at the 2026 World Cup. Thomas Tuchel has since introduced greater competition by giving James Trafford opportunities.
However, Pickford returned to England’s starting lineup for their emphatic 7-0 Nations League victory over Croatia.
Attention has now shifted away from football following further details about an incident on April 14.
As Transfer News Live previously reported, Pickford pleaded guilty to driving without due care or attention following an incident involving his £200,000 Lamborghini Urus.
The Athletic has now detailed how police pursued the 32-year-old after he ignored give-way lines at a junction in Knutsford. His manoeuvre forced two vehicles to brake sharply to avoid a collision.
A police officer then activated emergency lights and sirens before attempting to catch Pickford’s Lamborghini.
The police vehicle reached 50mph on Toft Road, where the speed limit is 30mph. However, Pickford’s Lamborghini was still pulling away. Pickford eventually stopped and identified himself to the officer.
Police subsequently issued the England international with a traffic offence report for driving without due care and attention. Pickford later pleaded guilty in writing through the Single Justice Procedure.
He has requested a court hearing to present his mitigation. The case will be heard at Chester Magistrates’ Court on December 7.
The goalkeeper remains Everton’s first choice and has continued representing England during the current international campaign.
However, the upcoming hearing means the April incident will remain an off-field issue for Pickford as the season progresses.
