A Premier League manager has received punishment for their recent action on the sidelines.

They were sent off earlier this month during a Premier League fixture and have now received their punishment after accepting an FA charge.

There have been plenty of changes from the Premier League in recent years, including teams delaying the restart to a game.

One of these changes also included kicking the ball away inadvertently or out of frustration.

One current Premier League manager has found out just how severely you can be punished for such actions.

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Vítor Pereira was sent off during the club’s 1-1 draw with Brighton and Hove Albion earlier this month.

Referee Jarett Gillett sent off Pereira in the 19th minute after he kicked a spare ball into the dugout area and struck a Sky Sports floor manager.

Pereira spoke on the incident. He said: “I know football is emotional, and I’m an emotional guy.

“But my behaviour was not proper. I kicked a ball and it cannot happen again. I apologise.”

After accepting an FA charge for his actions, Pereira has now been handed a £15,000 fine for his actions for what have been deemed an “incident of misconduct.”

It has not been a good start to the season in the slightest for Wolves, with two draws and six losses in their opening eight games. Receiving a fine for kicking a ball is the last thing that Pereira will want.

They will want to get their season back on track against Burnley tomorrow afternoon as they search for their first Premier League win of the season.
