Thomas Tuchel arranges special reward for England players after Croatia win

The German coach adopted a different approach from several of his predecessors.

England made the perfect start to their 2026 World Cup campaign with a thrilling 4-2 victory over Croatia in Dallas.

The Three Lions overcame a difficult first half before producing a dominant display after the break.

Harry Kane scored twice for England, while Jude Bellingham and Marcus Rashford also found the net.

The victory handed Thomas Tuchel‘s side an important three points and placed them in a strong position ahead of their remaining group-stage fixtures.

The England manager praised his team’s response after a frustrating opening 45 minutes. More importantly, the result allowed the squad to begin the tournament on a positive note.

Tuchel has also worked hard to create the right atmosphere around the camp since arriving as England manager. The German coach adopted a different approach from several of his predecessors.

Rather than placing strict restrictions on player interactions, Tuchel has focused on maintaining a relaxed environment during the tournament.

That philosophy has now produced a welcome reward for England’s squad.

Following the victory over Croatia, Tuchel confirmed that England players will receive opportunities to spend time with their families during the World Cup, according to The Sun.

The squad briefly met their loved ones inside the Dallas Stadium after completing their media and matchday responsibilities. However, the arrangement will not end there.

Tuchel will allow family members to visit Missouri, where England have established their training base, several times throughout the tournament.

The decision reflects the manager’s belief that maintaining close family connections can benefit players during a demanding competition.

Several players enjoyed emotional moments after the final whistle against Croatia.

Harry Kane celebrated the victory with his wife Katie Goodland, while Jude Bellingham also spent time with partner Ashlyn Castro following the match.

Meanwhile, Jordan Pickford’s wife Megan was spotted celebrating with the England goalkeeper after full-time.

England’s players will also have opportunities to see family members after the remaining group-stage matches against Ghana and Panama.
