It has been a turbulent start to the season for Tottenham Hotspur.
They were 2-0 up in the UEFA Super Cup final vs PSG, but ended up drawing 2-2 and losing on penalties.
This was followed up with a 3-0 win at home to Burnley, before an impressive 2-0 win away to Manchester City.
However, they were bumped back down to earth after a 1-0 defeat at home to AFC Bournemouth.
Off the pitch, they signed Randal Kolo Muani on loan from PSG, days after confirming the signing of Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig.
Well, there has now been another development off the pitch.
Spurs have officially announced that Daniel Levy has stepped down as chairman after 25 years at the club.
Levy oversaw the move from White Hart Lane to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in 2019, via a couple of seasons at Wembley.
He has certainly made sure that Spurs are a stable club, with the club never in any financial worry during his time in charge.
However, fans had got very frustrated at his lack of ambition when it came to transfers.
Many fans would say the phrase “To dare is too dear”, coined from the original club slogan of “To dare is to do”.
It is safe to say this has come out of absolutely nowhere. No links, no rumours, no reports. Nothing like that.
Spurs confirmed in their statement that no changes to the ownership or shareholder structure of the club.
