Tottenham Hotspur could once again be heading towards a managerial change. Sunday’s defeat has only made things worse for the club.
Spurs went into the game against Nottingham Forest knowing it was a must-win. It was a proper relegation battle.
However, they failed to handle the pressure. The team collapsed and suffered a heavy 3-0 defeat at home.
So, the situation has now become serious. Tottenham are just one point above the relegation zone.
This comes right after a brief positive run. They picked up a good point away at Liverpool. Also, they followed that with an impressive win over Atletico Madrid.
But that momentum has now disappeared. The loss to Forest has brought them straight back down.
Igor Tudor is now under real pressure. He has lost five and drawn one of his six league games in charge. So, the club could make a change.
There are already several names being discussed. Also, a former Tottenham manager has offered himself to take up the role if they sack Igor Tudor.
But Sean Dyche is currently leading the betting markets. Also, Mauricio Pochettino has been mentioned again. Fans would welcome his return. Roberto De Zerbi is another name in the mix.
There are also links with former players. Ryan Mason and Robbie Keane have both been mentioned. However, it is still unclear if either would take on such a difficult situation.
Harry Redknapp has also shown interest. But he has been out of management for nearly a decade. So, that would be a risky move. Now, another option is starting to gain attention.
Reports from Italy first mentioned Adi Hutter last week. The Telegraph has also backed those claims after the latest defeat.
Monaco sacked the Austrian earlier this season. Since then, he has been without a club. So, Tottenham could see him as a potential option if they decide to make a change soon.
No matter what, the Spurs will have to act quickly before it is too late for them to survive in the Premier League next season.
