Aston Villa have continued their aggressive late-window rebuild after reaching another major agreement in the transfer market.
Unai Emery has already overseen sweeping changes following several significant departures from last season’s squad.
Ezri Konsa, Youri Tielemans, Morgan Rogers, Emiliano Martinez and Ollie Watkins have all left Villa Park this summer.
Villa responded by adding Leon Goretzka, Joao Gomes, Nicolas Jackson, Zion Suzuki and Matteo Ruggeri.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Alejandro Garnacho also arrived on loan as Emery reshaped several areas of his squad.
The changes followed a difficult opening weekend, with Brighton handing Villa a heavy 4-0 Premier League defeat.
That result increased the pressure on Villa to strengthen further before their upcoming home clash against Arsenal.
Their recruitment drive has now produced another significant breakthrough involving one of Paris Saint-Germain‘s brightest young attackers.
According to David Ornstein, Aston Villa have reached an agreement in principle to sign PSG forward Ibrahim Mbaye.
The clubs have agreed a deal worth €55 million, with paperwork now progressing towards completion.
The relationship between Villa chairman Nassef Sawiris and PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi helped move negotiations towards an agreement.
Mbaye joined PSG from FC Versailles 78 in 2018 before progressing through the French club’s academy.
He made his senior debut aged 16 and has since accumulated 42 first-team appearances for PSG.
The 18-year-old has scored four goals and provided four assists during his senior career with the French champions.
Last season alone, he contributed three goals and two assists across 31 appearances in all competitions.
Mbaye also became PSG’s youngest-ever player to start a Ligue 1 match during his rapid rise.
He later switched international allegiance from France to Senegal and made his senior debut in November 2025.
The forward has since earned 15 Senegal appearances and featured prominently during both AFCON and the World Cup.
Villa had tracked Mbaye earlier in the summer before moving for Garnacho, with Emery admiring his potential. He was also a target for Liverpool.
The €55 million agreement now places Villa in a strong position to complete another major signing before the deadline.
