Barcelona are preparing for a major decision up front. The future of Robert Lewandowski is still uncertain and the club may already have a plan in place.

Lewandowski’s contract runs out next summer. So far, Barcelona have made no move to renew it. Sporting director Deco has refused to give any guarantees.

When asked, Deco said (via Catalunya Ràdio):

“It’s not time to talk about that. We’re focused on getting injured players back. He’s helped us a lot, but we’ll analyse everything later.”

At 37, Lewandowski has already missed part of the season through injury. He has scored four times in nine games.

Now, Barcelona are looking ahead. And a new name has quietly made it onto their radar.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the club are eyeing a striker who has been tearing up the Bundesliga and Champions League. The best part is he is available for a cut-price fee.

Serhou Guirassy is under contract at Borussia Dortmund until 2028, and the German club reportedly value him at €100 million. But a release clause changes everything.

Barcelona could sign him next summer for just €65 million. Since joining Dortmund from Stuttgart in 2024, Guirassy has scored 44 goals and delivered 12 assists in just 58 matches.

His Bundesliga total now stands at 68 goals in 106 games. In Europe, he has 16 goals in just 20 Champions League outings.

This season, he is already on fire scoring 5 and assisting 3 in just 7 appearances across the Bundesliga and Champions League.

Still, Deco has made it clear that Barcelona might not sign a classic No. 9. Lewandowski could leave next summer.

So, Guirassy is available for a price Barcelona can afford. And the club may have already made up their mind.
