Bayern Munich face massive hurdle in pursuit of Anthony Gordon

Signing Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United next summer will not be straightforward for Bayern Munich.

Anthony Gordon

Bayern Munich have made Anthony Gordon one of their primary targets for next summer. In recent years, the Bavarians have found success by picking players from the Premier League.

In the last few years, they have signed Harry Kane, Michael Olise, and Luis Diaz, the current Bayern front three from Premier League clubs.

That is why they are also looking to bolster their attack by adding Gordon to their ranks. Now, the German champions are already making progress in their pursuit of signing him.

Behind the scenes, they have held talks with Gordon’s agents and already presented a five-year deal to the England international.

So, personal terms will not be an issue in signing Anthony Gordon for Bayern Munich. However, they will have a massive hurdle to cross if they want to sign him next summer.

According to Florian Plettenberg, the German will have their work cut out in their quest to agree on the fee for Gordon with Newcastle United.

There are many Premier League clubs that are also looking at Gordon next summer. The likes of Liverpool and Arsenal are already tracking him to bolster their left wing.

Liverpool see him as a replacement for Luis Diaz, and Arsenal are looking at him if Gabriel Martinelli leaves the club.

So, there will be competition for Gordon, and Bayern would like to avoid that because they don’t want to overpay for the England star.

Thus, signing Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United next summer will not be straightforward for Bayern Munich.
