Bayern Munich took back the Bundesliga this season at the first time of asking.

The German giants surrendered their title to Bayer Leverkusen last season, but comfortably managed to wrestle the trophy back to Bavaria.

But in cup competitions Bayern did leave a bit to be desired this season.

Out in the DFB Pokal at the Round of 16, and the Champions League at the quarter finals stage, Vincent Kompany will be hoping for better luck next season.

One area Die Roten will be looking to improve is in their forward line.

Harry Kane again marched to the golden boot with 28 goals, with a supporting cast chipping in with a fair few.

However, Bayern manager Vincent Kompany will be hoping for more firepower to help his team make further in-roads in Europe next season.

And in doing so, they are targeting one of the most coveted forwards in the Premier League, from none other than the champions Liverpool.

According to Sky Sports Germany, Bayern Munich are interested in Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo this summer for a fee valued around €50m.

The Dutch forward scored 10 premier league goals for the champions this season.

Following an excellent Euro 2024 for the Netherlands, Gakpo established himself into one of the most dangerous attackers in the Premier League.

Cody Gakpo will add to an already blistering forward line including Harry Kane, Michael Olise and Jamal Musiala in Bavaria.

For Liverpool, Gakpo often came up trumps when they needed him most this season.

However, he is still not 100% assured of a starting place amidst fierce competition.

With Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz also linked with exits this summer, could Liverpool afford to let another of their stars depart to a European rival?
