Chelsea are always very active in the transfer market. Currently, they are working on both the Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho deals simultaneously.

Also, the Blues have signed many players and are ready to let many players go to manage their books.

But, there is one player that Chelsea are reluctant to let go, and he is Cole Palmer. The former Manchester City player has become a superstar at Stamford Bridge.

It was his brilliance in the final that propelled Chelsea to become the world champions in club football.

Before the final against PSG, nobody gave the Blues a chance to win the Club World Cup. However, in that game, Palmer single-handedly decimated Luis Enrique’s men.

The Englishman scored a brace against the Champions League winners as Chelsea became the FIFA Club World Cup champions.

In the same competition, Manchester City were knocked out by the Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal in the round of 16.

After the tournament, there are rumours flying that the Citizens want to re-sign the player they sold to Chelsea in 2023.

The Blues paid £42.5 million for Cole Palmer and now, if they sell him, the buying club need to pay a humongous amount.

Transfer News Live has already covered that Manchester City will be willing to pay £147 million for the Chelsea star.

However, the current scenario indicates that such a large amount may not be enough to convince Chelsea to let the player go. The Blues are looking for a much bigger amount.

According to Fichajes, Chelsea will demand around £200 million upfront and £50 million in add-ons. So, the Blues are looking for a deal around £250 million for Cole Palmer.

PSG paid the highest transfer fee in football history, €222 million, when they signed Neymar from Barcelona.

Chelsea are looking for a much bigger fee to sell their star player, which might be a bit difficult even for a club like Manchester City with the PSR restrictions.
