Cristiano Ronaldo is arguably one of the greatest players to have ever graced the football field.
At the age of 40, the Portuguese superstar is still going strong. He has just won the Saudi Pro League Golden Boot award for the second year in a row.
However, he has yet to find success in terms of trophies for the club he represents, Al-Nassr.
In fact, this year, they even failed to qualify for the AFC Champions League.
To pile up the disappointment, Cristiano Ronaldo’s club will not feature in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.
But, his long-standing rival Lionel Messi’s club, Inter Miami will be playing in the inaugural tournament organised by FIFA.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s contract with the Saudi Arabian club will expire at the end of June this year.
The Portuguese international is yet to renew his contract. And his post on social media has fuelled speculation that he will soon exit the club.
Ronaldo stated in his post;
“This chapter is over. The story? Still being written. Grateful to all.”
A number of clubs that are representing in the FIFA Club World Cup are linked with the striker.
However, according to Foot Mercato, Cristiano Ronaldo currently has two offers on his table. One is from his current club, Al-Nassr. The other offer is from their rivals, Al-Hilal.
After the departure of Neymar Jr. last winter, Al-Hilal is looking to bring a superstar figure to their club.
With Ronaldo’s contract expiring, they are targeting him as the superstar who will bring eyeballs to their club just like he did to Al-Nassr.
The Saudi club is also targeting his countryman and Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes.
Al-Hilal can give Cristiano Ronaldo a chance to play in the inaugural FIFA Club World where Lionel Messi will also play.
With Al-Nassr, he can continue his quest to help the club win the Saudi Pro League and the AFC Champions League.
Cristiano Ronaldo is yet to make a decision. But, time is running out for the Portuguese star.
