Derby County have yet to win a game in the 2025/26 season.
However, two draws in the first four league games sees them one spot above the relegation places in the EFL Championship table.
It has not been a dull start to the season for Derby.
Stoke scored two goals in injury time to win 3-1 on the opening day and Derby were involved in a 5-3 thriller next time out in a defeat to Coventry City.
They scored a late goal themselves, former Luton Town striker Carlton Morris netting an 86th minute equaliser against Bristol City and allowed an Ipswich Town equaliser in the 16th minute of added time.
Derby almost were not in the Championship this season, and this looked a likely prospect back in March when they were seven points off safety.
21 points out of the last 33 available saw Derby earn survival, at the expense of Luton, Plymouth Argyle and Cardiff City.
Despite being in 21st place after the first four games, only three teams have scored more goals in the Championship than Derby.
On the other hand, Derby have also allowed the joint most goals in the league this season so far alongside Queens Park Rangers, with 11 goals conceded.
Despite this defensive issues, they have earmarked one player to further improve their goalscoring prowess.
Derby County set to sign Southampton forward
According to reports, Derby County are set to sign Southampton striker Ben Brereton-Díaz on a loan deal.
Brereton-Díaz joined Southampton from Villarreal last summer for a reported fee of £7 million.
After failing to score in 13 games across all competitions, he was swiftly loaned out to Sheffield United for the second time in his career.
He now looks to set to be moving within the Championship, after failing to appear in any league game this season for the Saints.
