Tottenham Hotspur enter the new season after making major changes under Roberto De Zerbi.
Spurs endured a difficult 2025/26 campaign and narrowly avoided relegation on the final day. De Zerbi eventually guided them to safety after replacing Igor Tudor.
Tottenham responded with an ambitious summer rebuild. They strengthened several areas of the squad while allowing several established players to leave.
The club signed Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali to reshape the midfield. Jan Paul van Hecke, Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson also arrived to strengthen the defence.
Cristian Romero and Djed Spence departed during the overhaul. Guglielmo Vicario is also leaving after losing his starting place to Antonin Kinsky.
De Zerbi could now sanction another notable departure before the transfer window closes.
According to TEAMtalk, Everton have maintained regular contact with Tottenham Hotspur over a potential move for Richarlison.
The Brazilian spent four years with Everton before joining Tottenham for £60 million in 2022.
Richarlison scored 11 Premier League goals in 32 appearances last season. However, De Zerbi has told the 29-year-old that he can find another club this summer.
The Tottenham manager has not pushed Richarlison towards the exit. He would still approve a transfer if the right opportunity emerges.
Richarlison would welcome the chance to return to Everton. The Toffees have remained in close contact with Spurs since the end of last season.
However, Everton may need to create room in their attack before completing a deal. Thierno Barry remains part of their plans after an encouraging pre-season.
Beto faces greater uncertainty after entering the final 12 months of his contract. Everton could consider selling Beto this summer.
His departure would create space for Richarlison to return to Merseyside. Tottenham’s attacking plans could also influence the situation.
Everton have not submitted a bid for Richarlison despite claims that Tottenham already rejected an offer.
