Everton enjoyed a resurgence under David Moyes in 2024/25.
After their struggles with Sean Dyche in charge, Moyes returned as manager in January and the results picked up shortly after his arrival.
They would finish the season in 13th place, after relegation fears in the first couple of months.
Their first six leagues games under Moyes, they won four, and earned a memorable 2-2 draw at Goodison Park during the last ever men’s Merseyside Derby at the historic ground.
Since a 1-0 loss to Aston Villa in Moyes’ first game back, they only lost three league games.
These were against Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea, who made up three of the top four in the league table.
Everton did not lose a league game in February or March and ended the season with one draw and three wins.
This second half to the season will give Everton fans hope that they can have a good campaign in 2025/26.
A top ten finish will be a realistic aim for Moyes’ side this season, but some will be hoping for more as they search for their first trophy since 1995.
The club have so far spent £46 million on incomings, with only £3.4 million in player sales.
Carlos Alcaraz made his loan move permanent, for a fee of £15 million.
French forward Thierno Barry made the switch from Villarreal for £27 million, with Bournemouth goalkeeper Mark Travers signing for an additional £4 million.
The club loose set to add another player to their squad.
Everton reach agreement for Bayern Munich defender
According to reports, Everton have reached an agreement for Bayern Munich defender Adam Aznou.
Aznou, 19, is set to sign for a €9 million transfer fee.
He made four appearances for Bayern in the 2024/25 season, before being sent to Real Valladolid on loan in early February.
During those few months, Aznou would make 13 appearances for the La Liga side, totalling 853 minutes played.
He will look to challenge the starting left-back spot currently occupied by Vitalii Mykolenko.
