It has already been a busy summer in the Asian part of Istanbul at Fenerbahce.
Bright Osayi-Samuel, Edin Dzeko and Dusan Tadic all departed the club.
Meanwhile, Tarik Cetin, Archie Brown, and most notably Jhon Duran joined the Turkish side.
Whilst Sofyan Amrabat’s loan deal from Fiorentina was turned into a permanent one.
Well, another loan player is set to become a full time Fenerbahce player.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Milan Skriniar is set to join from Paris Saint Germain.
The Slovakian defender spent the second half of last season at the club, and impressed with his performances.
In his report, Romano states that the initial fee will be 7 million Euros, and will total up to 10 million with add ons.
He says that Skriniar only wanted Fenerbahce.
Jose Mourinho’s side have not won the Super Lig since 2014, despite several near misses.
With signings like Skriniar and Duran, they will be hoping this is the year that changes.
Fenerbahce’s season starts as soon as Wednesday, when they face Feyenoord in a Champions League qualifier.
Mourinho is very familiar with the Dutch side, having beaten them in the 2022 Conference League final.
He also beat them in the 2023 Europa League knockout stages, before being sacked just before round 3 in 2024 – which Roma again won.
So, he will be hoping he can now finally get that third consecutive knockout over the Rotterdam outfit.
