The recent Spurs headlines have been dominated by Heung-Min Son’s departure earlier on this week.
After a decade in North London, the 33-year old decided it was time to move on, and joined MLS side LAFC.
He saw everything during his time at Spurs, including a formidable front four with Christian Eriksen, Harry Kane, and Dele Alli.
People will remember that attack was nicknamed “DESK”.
One of the other four departed his club this summer, as Eriksen left Manchester United.
Well, it looks like a third is also set to depart his club.
According to GOAL, Dele Alli is set to leave Serie A side Como this summer.
They state that the attacking midfielder is not in Cesc Fabregas’ plans in northern Italy.
However, they suggest that, despite reports, the 29-year old is not looking to retire.
When on Monday Night Football in April 2024, Alli said he still had hopes to go to the 2026 World Cup.
Which would marry up with the idea that he is not looking to retire from football.
Still, that was before another year of his career had ultimately gone down the pan.
Having joined Como midway through last season, Alli made one appearance for the club.
A cameo off the bench against AC Milan – where he was sent off.
Safe to say, it couldn’t have been a worse six months for him.
In the 22/23 season, he had a largely uneventful loan spell at Turkish side Besiktas.
So it is hard to know what would be best for his career now.
Some have said a romantic move back to MK Dons, but would he drop down to League Two?
Considering he has ambitious hopes for the World Cup – that feels unlikely.
But it could be what’s for the best, even if he doesn’t know it yet.
