Harry Kane has finally spoken about his long-term plans. And his words may surprise many in England. The Bayern Munich striker left Tottenham Hotspur in 2023.
The England star has now made his stance clear about a potential Premier League comeback.
Since his move to Germany, the 32-year-old has done what he does best, score goals. Kane has been in record-breaking form for Vincent Kompany’s side.
The former Spurs star scored 103 times and provided 29 assists in just 106 appearances. Recently, he also became the first Bundesliga player to score 11 goals in the opening six matches of a season.
However, Kane’s contract with Bayern runs only until 2027. So, the speculation about his future has already begun.
According to The Mirror, the England captain addressed those rumours during a press conference this week.
When asked about signing a new deal or returning to the Premier League, Kane replied:
“In terms of staying there longer, I could definitely see that.”
The England captain also added that he has not yet held talks with Bayern about an extension. But he would be open to discussions.
The striker also admitted that his desire to return to England has “gone down a little bit” compared to when he first left Spurs. Kane said:
“I’m fully all in with Bayern. We’re in a fantastic moment, and I’m not thinking about anything else right now.”
Kane’s words are significant. The former Tottenham forward has long been linked with a potential return to England.
The striker can still break Alan Shearer’s record. Kane scored 213 top-flight goals for Spurs and needs 47 more to equal Shearer’s all-time tally.
While Manchester United, Tottenham, and even Chelsea might make a move if the opportunity comes, Harry Kane appears content where he is.
