Vinicius Junior is one of the main superstars in the Real Madrid squad. Before Kylian Mbappe joined, the Brazilian was the face of the Real Madrid project.
Under Carlo Ancelotti, the Brazilian was a key player. After winning the Champions League the year before, Vini Jr was destined to win the Ballon d’Or.
However, Rodri from Manchester City won the award which is still a controversial decision. Just like the entire Madrid team, Vinicius had an average season last year.
The 25-year-old scored just 22 goals in 58 games for the Los Blancos. He also provided 18 assists. But the year before, he scored 24 goals in 39 games and provided 11 assists.
After the Club World Cup debacle, drastic changes are expected at Madrid. Many are speculating that Vinicius Junior might be up for sale.
His contract will expire in 2027. Real Madrid want to renew his contract. However, Vinicius is yet to sign the new deal. This delay is driving these speculations on his future.
However, while speaking to GQ, the Brazilian opened up on his future and said;
“I’ve already achieved a lot, but my dreams are far from over. I want to win more trophies with my club, win the most important competitions with the national team, and continue to inspire the next generation to believe in themselves. My biggest dream is to leave a legacy that goes beyond football, especially through all the work I do through my foundation to improve the education system in Brazil.”
This indicates that Vinicius Junior is looking to stay at Real Madrid. However, Real Madrid need to meet his demands.
The Brazilian loves the club and would like to stay here as long as possible. Now, it is interesting to see what Real Madrid would do as Vinicius Junior has made his intentions clear.
