It has been a whirlwind of whispers, phone calls, and cautious optimism at Trigoria and Continassa alike.
Two of Italy’s most storied clubs, Roma and Juventus, find themselves circling the same touchline, eyeing a man whose philosophy transformed a bottom-half Serie A club into one of the most exciting sides in European football.
The first offer has already been made by Roma. The Giallorossi have moved decisively, submitting their proposal to the veteran tactician and awaiting a response that could alter the shape of next season’s Serie A narrative.
One the other hand, Juventus, biding its time, stands ready to swoop in should the door crack open.
The manager in question has asked for a few more days. A calculated pause, not of indecision, but of evaluation.
This is no routine job offer. It comes with expectations, with legacy, and with the weight of two cities, Rome, and Turin, hungry for silverware.
According to Matteo Moretto, Roma’s negotiations with Gian Piero Gasperini are well advanced.
The Giallorossi have laid their cards on the table, offering the former Atalanta coach the chance to lead a new project in the capital. But despite the progress, nothing has been finalised.
And while all eyes in Rome are waiting for Gasperini’s nod, Juventus have not stepped away from the race.
Their initial plan may have revolved around bringing Antonio Conte back, but with that path growing colder, the Bianconeri have re-established contact with Gasperini’s camp.
Juventus are watching, listening, and preparing. The next move belongs to Gian Piero Gasperini.
His decision could define the tactical identity of one of Italy’s most followed clubs and may even shape the title race.
For now, the ball rests at Gasperini’s feet. And both Rome and Turin await the whistle.
