Liverpool agree deal for Bradley Barcola

The French international arrives at Anfield as the replacement for Mohamed Salah.

Liverpool are closing in on one of the biggest transfers of the summer after reaching an agreement in principle with Paris Saint-Germain for Bradley Barcola.

The Reds moved quickly after Yan Diomande chose another destination despite interest from Anfield.

Sporting director Richard Hughes and head coach Andoni Iraola then made Barcola their priority target to strengthen the attack following Mohamed Salah’s departure.

According to DaveOCKOP, Liverpool have now reached an agreement in principle with PSG for the transfer of Bradley Barcola.

The deal is worth around €128 million (£109.7 million), with add-ons structured more favourably than earlier proposals.

However, the transfer has not been completed, and the final paperwork still needs to be signed. Liverpool submitted their opening bid last week before talks accelerated.

Transfer News Live earlier reported that Barcola had already agreed on personal terms with the Merseyside club, leaving the transfer fee as the final obstacle.

The 23-year-old has only two years remaining on his current PSG contract and will not sign an extension.

His desire to join Liverpool has strengthened the club’s position during negotiations, while there has been little serious competition from other clubs. PSG have also made progress with their own plans.

The Ligue 1 champions recently completed the signing of Maghnes Akliouche from Monaco. So, the Parisians are now comfortable with Barcola’s departure this summer.

Liverpool now hope to complete the remaining formalities without any late complications.

If the move goes through, Barcola will become one of the most expensive signings in the club’s history. Also, he will be a major addition to Iraola’s squad.

The France international impressed whenever he featured under Luis Enrique despite fierce competition for places. Liverpool believe Barcola can play a much bigger role at Anfield.
