Liverpool and Bayern Munich are both showing strong interest in a young defender currently playing for Feyeboord.
The reigning Premier League champions are having a hard time in their title defence. They are currently looking for a place in the Champions League next season.
Now, for Bayern, the dream of being invincibles is now over after losing to Augsburg. Now, they are looking to strengthen their defence in the transfer market.
That is why both Liverpool and Bayern Munich are looking to sign a new defender from Feyenoord. And, the Bavarians have made the early move.
According to Florian Plettenberg, concrete talks have already taken place between Bayern Munich and Givairo Read’s representatives.
The 19-year-old is currently on the books at Feyenoord and has been a regular feature this season. He has made 16 appearances across all competitions, scoring one goal and providing three assists.
However, no agreement has been reached at this stage, and negotiations remain open. Liverpool are also monitoring the situation closely, which has added further pressure to the process.
At the same time, Bayern are currently focused on securing several costly contract extensions for key players, limiting their flexibility in the market for now.
Another factor could influence Bayern’s plans. Much depends on the future of defender Sacha Boey.
If the full-back leaves the club, Bayern would gain additional room to move forward with a new signing in that position.
With interest from both Bayern Munich and Liverpool, the situation is expected to develop further as the summer window approaches.
