This summer has been anything but quiet at Anfield.

Three players have already arrived, but the red wave shows no signs of slowing down.

The club has already made the deal for Milos Kerkez official, confirming what fans had suspected for weeks.

Before that, two big names from Bundesliga, Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz, were unveiled with much fanfare.

For most clubs, that would be a complete window. But, not for Liverpool, the reigning Premier League champions.

According to DaveOCKOP, the club is now working on yet another addition.

This one, though, is not about flair or attack. It is about solidity, leadership, and defensive steel.

The deal has been months in the making.

Discussions began earlier this year and picked up pace once Jarell Quansah’s move to Bayer Leverkusen became all but certain.

There is a gap to fill in the squad.

Arne Slot wants someone who has played at the top level and understands what it takes to win in England.

And Marc Guehi fits the profile perfectly.

He led Crystal Palace to an FA Cup win just last month.

He also played every minute of England’s run to the Euro 2024 final.

With the World Cup on the horizon, he wants to stay sharp and stay visible.

Marc Guehi has only one year left on his contract, which makes him an even more appealing target.

Liverpool believe they can get the 24-year-old centre-back for around £40–45 million, down from the £60 million quoted last year.

Crystal Palace know Chelsea still hold a 20% sell-on clause, which means they will drive a hard bargain.

But Liverpool are confident. And if they succeed, Guehi’s arrival will not only cover the loss of Quansah; it will raise the level of the entire backline.

The fourth signing of the summer could be just days away.
