It looks like one of Liverpool’s rising talents could be heading for the exit door.

A £30 million deal is on the table, and the red half of Merseyside may be ready to cash in.

But the club has already lined up a new name to strengthen the backline.

Jarell Quansah, who is currently with England at the European Championships in Slovakia, is expected to join Bayer Leverkusen.

A five-year contract is being prepared by Erik ten Hag’s side, and Liverpool are not standing in the way.

The Anfield club see this as a chance to reshuffle. With a key departure looming, they have set their sights on bringing in fresh energy and experience at the back.

One name has been at the top of their list for a while. And now, they are ready to make their move.

Their interest is not new. Tottenham Hotspur had already tested the waters back in January with a hefty bid, only to be pushed back.

That offer, worth close to £70 million, was not enough to tempt the selling club.

Even Thomas Frank’s team are still in the race. But the feeling from Merseyside is that Liverpool are in pole position.

Internal talks have already taken place. The opening bid is expected to be submitted soon.

The player in question is Marc Guehi, as reported by The Guardian.

With just one year left on his deal at Crystal Palace, the 23-year-old England international could be available for a more reasonable fee this summer.

Crystal Palace are already in talks with Sporting Lisbon to sign a possible replacement in Ousmane Diomande, suggesting the London club are preparing for life without their star defender.

Now, all eyes are on Liverpool to see if they can seal the deal before any other suitor jumps ahead.
