Manchester City are the most successful English team in recent history without any doubt.

They are also the second English side to win the historic treble, which they did in the 2022/23 season.

So, the Citizens are not used to going trophyless for the entire season. However, they had to endure that last season.

Pep Guardiola’s men failed to win any trophies last year. And, this gave an indication that there will be changes at the Etihad.

Manchester City are looking to build a team that can dominate European football for the next 5-10 years.

That is why they have already signed the likes of Rayan Cherki, Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Marcus Bettinelli, Sverre Nypan, and James Trafford.

Now, Manchester City are looking to add more firepower to their forward line. They want to make sure they have a forward with both pace and physical strength.

Jeremy Doku didn’t have a great season last year. The same can be said about Phil Foden, who has been crucial in City’s recent success.

So, Manchester City are looking to strengthen their wider positions. That is why they are eyeing a forward who can play in that position with both pace and precision.

According to Fichajes, Pep Guardiola has already set his sights on a Portuguese forward. Yes, Manchester City are ready to splash £100 million for AC Milan winger Rafael Leao.

The Portuguese international wants a move away from San Siro. The Rossoneri are not in the Champions League.

Leao wants a new challenge in his footballing career after joining Milan in the 2019/20 season.

The 26-year-old represented AC Milan 260 times, scoring 70 goals and registering 62 assists.

If Manchester City do splash £100 million on Rafael Leao, this could be one of the headline-grabbing deals of the summer.
